Post Human Cybornetic Mind & Body aka. The Human With a Prefix Scenario
This final simulation hypothesis I've arrived at revolves around the situational awareness perceived by an individual's consciousness when confronted with the reality of the increasingly growing speed of the advancement of technology as well as it's implications on everyday reality, including but not limited to the acquisition and resale of data and the debate of privacy vs. security, and another factor which I would like to add and highlight - which is sovereignty (perhaps independence) in other words.
A simple example would be the data that is saved and stored through corporations and governments on modern day computing and communication devices such as smartphones, servers and computers.
This example bears in mind the storage of both local and cloud data including pictures, videos, audios, written work and finances among other information which relates to the data of continuity from an individual's(s) life experience through time.
From the consideration of privacy as an important factor we are always given a choice to write or draw down what we want on a medium instead of our digital devices as the best if not the only possible most private way to store data.
Arguably the least secure way of storing data since it may easily be accessed by anyone with a strong interest and intent to read what it is that a person writes about.
A good, safe bet is putting something away in to a safe or under lock for storage.
However, there is still a possibility that given enough will is exerted from a force aiming to discover what is inside this safe - the information via written/drawn medium will be accessed.
This is where security comes in to play in regards to a smart device or computer which most of the time is endowed with a password combination lock, not only that, but the convenience factor of immediate accessibility is a tempting factor in using technology.
However, there is factually no guarantee that any computing device may not be breached through hacking or through government surveillance, which - and it is an important factor to note and consider - is reliant upon both corporate and government relation, political ideology and norm.
This is where sovereignty comes into play... at least that's where it should... from a soveirgn aspect of data management - one would definitely opt for writing down notes as it is to be thought as the most independent way of storing data which eliminates any possibility of government or corporate management and oversight.
BUT... and it is a BUT capitalized and I'll even add a bold BUT... the posthuman scenario of the merging of technology and artificial intelligence takes this idea to another level.
An idea propagated by a good lot of intelligentsia from A.I. research and the tech sector: the merging of human and machine, the supposed way forward to avoid a forced takeover of the machine mind... a submission into General Artificial Intelligence through the merge of the human mind with machine widely known as a brain computer interface or a neural implant of some sort, the idea of which is to eliminate the need for smartphones, cameras, perhaps even written notes, memory or data recollection and possibly providing a way to scan and upload the human conscious mind into computer or some sort of cloud storage... which could result in such miracles as immortality.
Calculations may be able to be done in a second in sync with the speed of a computer, with the speed of a thought, an internet search engine may be accessible through telepathic internet inquiry, photographic memory could not only become an actual reality, but memory all in all could be rendered to be limitless, providing and curing any related illnesses.
Does this render everyone to be a robot than at that point? Are we there yet?
I wish to argue that the human with a prefix scenario, or otherwise the idea of merging every and all people with technology in a way that eliminates the need to use a computing device or any sort of physical digital interface which isn't directly connected to a human body (in a cyborg fashion so to say) creates a collossal issue within not only the data management aspect of technology but within the human mind, spirit and psyche.
Imagine that humans must be implanted with a neurological computing device from birth.
Brushing aside the safety aspect immediately and assuming that merging one's consciousness with automated technology may immediately guarantee safety in regards to law, the understanding of law, fear of law and accessability to the human consciousness from the government (whether human, A.G.I., or a combination of both indipendantly or as a hive mind state) - therefore guaranteeing the quick, if not almost immediate action and reaction to any sort of criminal activity, the complete and total elimination of which could also be possible through literal mind programming especially if it relates to the access to a persons physical movement or the like (*SHOCK* don't do that or you die) - there appears a major dilemma which is shortly talked about in science fiction such as the Matrix, but silly as it may be seems to be rather often dismissed due to the overall absurdity of its probability.
It's dismissed from both the people experiencing the conditions of this overbearing speed of technological progress and the expectations of modern society as well as the people on the receiving end of the complaints of this progress.
The trouble comes with the logging of the data of thoughts and memory collection.
This is a problem with photographic, audio, writing as well as with telepathic technology which I will apply to the logging of the data of thoughts and memory collection.
TLOTDOTAMC from henceforth for short.
TLOTDOTAMC in it's most extreme form and with a lack of oversight from my personal perspective is not only an incredibly heavy implication on the human psyche, but quite possibbly technological fascism, which may create totalitarianism through technology through the merge of human consciousness with A.G.I. or a Hive Mind, essentially creating a sort of technological dictatorship devoid of individuality, whether based on a human consciousness or a conscious artificial intelligence.
My hypothesis is that TLOTDOTAMC, thought cataloging and mining is a black hole into the abyss of technologically endowed reality which has the overbearingly frightening potential to create multi-dimensional simulations and/ or erase individuality and the logic of a single unit of consciousness or even existence.
Hypothetically then:
- Thought, Action and Memory becomes Data in the technological sense, with ability to store and process.
- An illusion of time becoming non-linear presents itself to the human psyche.
Perception becomes reality, the past, the present as well as the future may become irrelevant, since without the past there is no consideration for action and without the future there is no repercussion or expectation thereof. - Reality becomes a Puzzle Piece to an Infinitely Expanding Puzzle With No Possible Solution.
- Death becomes Deletion from the Program (becoming null void)
OR
Death becomes An Entrance to a New Dimension (rebirth/ reincarnation)
The choices of an individual with freedom of will by logic become as follows:
Existence for Submission OR Existence for Resistance OR Existence for Cooperation*
*It is important to note that cooperation does not imply the requirement to merge with technology in a biological manner, or through the human with a prefix manner, whereas submission does, while resistance comes about at the point at which there is no other way but to to resist the TLOTDOTAMC scenario.
Cooperation implies the consideration of the need/ use of technology for certain situations, jobs, or necesseties. This includes things such as vaccines, implantable tracking chips, communication devices, photographs, records, etc..
Privacy, Security and Sovereignty take on huge debatable roles in these matters and are mostly based on interpersonal human relations and the absence or lack of systematic trust or faith in humanity as it were.
What separates a human-to-human relationship and a machine-to-human relationship is possibly the empathy and curiosity as well as the aspect of parenting and community.
(I discuss this shortly in rest< and furthermore in Mind to Matter, which is currently in development)
Cooperation seems to therefore be the optimal middle ground for maintaining peace with advanced technology and governing forces, however the things which must be considered are bad actors (corruption, egoitistical behavior), equality (equal access to opportunity, education, essential needs), intent (why we do what we do, why work and what the result of it is), as well as technological rampancy (Cortana, GladOS, HAL9000) as well as the access to simple explanations to navigate the increasingly accelerating technological landscape.
I would like to highlight that this isn't a perspective to human relations, but much more a perspective to human relations with technology, which may in turn impact human relations, especially in terms of aspects of mental health and the perception of the world and reality being real or an illusion.
I would like to note a very real occurance - I will label it as the appearance of SIMTARDS.
A simtard is a term I came up to describe a person who is convinced that they are in a technological simulation due to the current condition of technological progress, which is in my opinion not the most insane hypothesis due to the above stated considerations of current technological progress...
I have to admit I have also arrived at this philosophical conclusion at a certain point in my life due to the perceived technological progress which is presented through video games (unreal engine) and computing devices.
It is not derogatory, just something I came up with. Open to suggestions. :)
Sometimes choice is an illusion, I argue most often it is not. It seems often choices are predestined, and even more often a cycle must break for change to take place in order to benefit not only the individual but all of humanity collectively.
How can one take responsibility for their choices however, if they are a bio-technological robot, how can one be sure that the choice they made, the actions they took are really their own unless they are communicated?
This is no joke dear reader, this is traumatic comedy.
Unfortunately, at this moment - there does not seem to be any substantial proof of that not being the case, while the opposite certainly seems to be true.
The Post Human Cyborg Mind & Body aka. The Human With a Prefix Scenario - currently seems to be a plausible perception of reality due to the absence of any educational resources besides the Matrix and Plato's Cave example to confront the issue from a non-practical, but through a humanitarian/ spiritual and ideological standpoint.
Pardon me being whimsical, but it truly seems that the only worthwhile aspects of life to hold on to at this moment are trust, faith, care and love of humans for one another, and I mean that in the most purest of possible forms such as an ideal care and love of a parent for their child or the ideal love and care shared between a brother and sister.
In conclusion I would like to encourage you, dear reader - to consider the freedoms and individuality that you yourself and people in your life possess. Think about how different we all are, how we are interconnected yet seperated by clear factors which grant us our individuality.
Now consider that this changes/ or had been changed in a significant way. What if it gets taken away completely?
Would you like to break the cycle of simtardation or would you like to keep digging into the endless abyss due to the miscalculations of perceived dangers and blind adherence to the definition of normality?
Can one even trust oneself with their own perception to not be faulty?
I have faith in you to do with this information what you will and come to a conclusion that suits your specific needs or your moral and spiritual perspective of life and the people around you.
I have faith in you, dear reader - to do the right thing and to care for life rather than dismiss it as a simulation.
More questions may arise, yet there is no doubt in my mind that giving up individuality and personal autonomy is against everything that freedom and independence is and could be in its best possible outcome.
It is very important to understand this condition and the trauma that may come with the issue of autonomy.
What are you ready to give up to make the world a better place?
What is better? To resort to hedonistic inclinations of immediate pleasure and satisfaction that technology so far has engrained into the human psyche in order to achieve a simply apathetic state of existence which equates reality with a video game and humans as non-playable A.I.... or to uncover the true deepness of a human soul?
I say to hell with TLOTDOTAMC in its extreme form and I am sure that it is a perspective shared by many others.
I encourage all to spread care and empathy for one another at this time and communicate clearly as I try my best to do so myself.
