Present Futures #1: Simulation Big Brain

Published on 24 March 2024 at 11:23

Although this may be taken as an anecdotal, perhaps even as a comedic remark (although from my experience comedy and trauma blend together like fine dining and wine, although they seldom should – and I do mean specifically comedy and trauma) since the mass populous of our virtually global technologically advanced society has gotten so incredibly desensitized to the fact of this – I can assume that most people who are reading this book right now have had a day where they either woke up with a feeling or have had an occurrence of what I personally do consider to be a “faulty enlightenment” of sorts, and it goes along the lines of something like this:

“Dang it. It’s all donkey crap. Either this is a dream or humanity is that far up it’s own bussom. None of this is real. I must be living in a dream... ne, I’ve seen The Matrix (1999), I must be in a simulation!”

...and so the spiral begins.

Beckoning one’s senses to be astonished by the cold, harsh truths that reality is neither a simulation nor a dream, a fellow who has never had such thoughts cross his mind would probably think about this person who just had a simulation epiphany something along the lines of:

“Who does this guy think he is, a Wachowski sister? I’m barely putting food on the table, living paycheck to paycheck and this guy has the time to live in delusions that they’re a main character in The Matrix (1999)? Get real! I swear to Jabeezus, these artists are going to be the death of us all!”

...and so on and so forth.

Yet – now more then ever we are entering the crucial time in the history of humanity where the border between such technology, and I mean truly immersive simulated reality environments and reality is growing ever so thin, that a simple look at the news cycle from 2020-2023 regarding technological innovation already beckons the question, which is: “could this be real?”

In 2020, the richest person on the planet at the time started actually running consumer driven smart brain-chip chip device tests during a global pandemic, which notably showed the focus of our healthcare system, that and mandatory vaccination bureaucracy. This, to me was in essence comedic and simultaneously kind of scary. Coincidence? Every atom of me at the time said it is not. It almost felt as though our entire civilization was comprised of Morty’s from the Adult Swim show Rick and Morty, and then there was this one Rick who wanted to live forever or something. Heck, perhaps we might need government documentation for our brain-chips in the future! Why not! More on that later.

During the COVID-19 pandemic we got to find out that although I presume with all respectful government safety protocols in place – we were able to participate in at home “market place rat studies” for corporations trying to sell us things using all of the data they can farm about us while we work and study from home. I do mean Google, I do mean Facebook and I do mean Amazon respectfully. (This may differ from country to country, but the idea remains.)

I personally am not a fan of data-mining, although I know many people prefer to have ads tailored to them personally, and I do respect tech bros for their hard work programming and developing communication apps, but I also really disrespect them for pioneering and driving earnings based attention-sucking algorithms, that feed off of basic human psychology and can drive a person so deep into an information rabbit hole, that they become an informational hazard! Heck, I bet I can be considered an informational hazard myself in some states where freedom of speech is a problem, although I hope to heeby-jeebuz that would not be the case.

And what more... the vaccines! OH the dreadful vaccines. Cannot live without them, at least if you are unaware of any state programs that may be able to support your unemployment, or if your state recognizes them as mandatory for work/study in person, much less – for EMPLOYMENT.

Let’s consider something for a cool minute, that is that in fact the same industry that is responsible for the opioid epidemic is responsible for making sure that people get proper treatment for a viral pandemic. There is no doubt in my mind that even if the vaccines are in fact effective, the forceful policies that were used to enact the laws mandating the use of these vaccines for work by some states were absolutely disregarding some very well known and justifiable reasons why people do not trust the pharmaceutical industry.

Oh, and they were tested on Israeli’s (notice how I didn’t say Jews... I just didn’t say Jews because they were tested on Israelis not Jews as a whole. I am not antisemitic, just stating an actual matter of fact. There is no hidden malice here whatsoever I am actually also Jewish. I will stop now before this puts a sour taste in your mouth and you quit reading this, because “oh heebajeebus it’s another one of those jewish writers, as if we haven’t had enough of those throughout the course of history”) – which guarantees quality! What is it? Like 5-6 jabs? Hell, they’re still going I gather. They must be on their 12th jab or something at this point. That is a joke of course, I believe they stopped mandating these after 4.

I bet some big-pharma lady named Julie is having a freaking bet with her friend Janette in a retirement community in Bethlehem on who lives longer considering the current healthcare system. Janette didn’t take any vaccines and is using herbal medicine and weed to treat rectal cancer, while Julie, an ex-big-pharma boss lady is shakily promoting vaccines through a text-to-speech computer hooked up to her brain or throat or whatever since she’s gotten paralyzed out of nowhere for single-handedly creating the opiod epidemic. Oh and they're both definetely agnostics, which is the one thing they agree on. Julie probably also has a direct dripper of codeine and promethazine cough syrup to ease the pain she doesn’t even feel necessarily.

I think they should smoke weed together and chill and work things out rather than hating on one another though, but that's just me.

To bring it all back to the simulation hypothesis – it is a philosophical conundrum that has long marveled humanity, ever since Plato in fact! The Plato’s Cave Allegory could be considered a direct inspiration to the simulation hypothesis, however – and it must be said – there is a difference between an allegory and an actual construction of a simulated reality in the form of prisoners tied by chains in a cave! It is safe to conclude that most parts of the world are above physically restricting people’s movements for the sake of experimentation, but alas... the well of the unknown begs to differ.

So, while I haven’t been treated nor have I went to a psychiatrist for evaluation for considering reality to be a simulation, and I do mean that in the sense of The Matrix (1999), not in the sense that our government representatives may be hiding something from us or perhaps may be misleading us in one way or another into buying a certain narrative about reality that favors their shareholders (which is perhaps their own way of attempting to get out of a simulation they themselves may think they’re in! Gosh, wouldn’t that be the twist!) – I can, with my generation Z brain educated by “some college” and the internet safely assume that with the major advances that the video game and the virtual reality industry has achieved in recent times (and justifiably admitting the well-known fact that secret agencies have a 50% likelihood of maintaining and controlling technology decades ahead of “it’s time”) conclude that in our times - telling a psychiatrist you may think you live in a simulation is a sign of forward-thinking and intellect, rather than a sign of a mental illness, much less a sign of a form of degradation!

So, considering this, and although I am no doctor – I don’t think treating such an occurrence with medication is necessary, much less – required… especially by force, however – I do think that there is enough bullshit to go around in society that a conversation with a psychotherapist about this topic may prove to be meaningless, lest that psychotherapist is either completely disconnected from the global market or is family, a friend or a family friend. The unfortunate and depressive state of the world that -isms have put us in, ladies and gentlemen! Oh it breaks my heart too.

What’s more is that despite the harshness of reality, it is indeed hard to argue against the simulation hypothesis! But I do take the position of realism (again with the -isms) that life is indeed real, not an illusion, and even if it is – there must be only layers to go, and surely death cannot be the answer!

Yet, if you do decide to kill yourself in “pursuit of a higher dimension of being”, just to try to acknowledge the importance your existence may contribute to “society” or “the current simulation” or “your family and friends” and realize that the mere absence of your presence in this specific instance may result in the necessity of a clone, which ultimately may be more trouble than it is worth, that said - you may be messing up a process in this higher dimension by being absent in the dimension you were meant to be in firstly. Also, if there is no afterlife and only eternal darkness after death, then why risk those chances? For love? Perhaps at times, but most of the time that will not make much sense.

Oh and please do care enough about other people to not harm them while you impose self-harm on yourself, since the potential expenses to be created when developing that many clones is incredibly unjustifiably unfair, we cannot afford another 9/11 or a holocaust ladies and gentlemen, respectfully.

This is of course a terribly dark joke. My heart goes out to all of the victims of these disasters.

Although I could see protest being a reason to commit suicide, but I pray for humanity in its collective whole that it does not become a thought that crosses your mind or a mind of a loved one, dear reader.

As the quote goes “Live, Laugh, Love” not “Live, Commit Suicide, Achieve Higher State of Being”.

At the same time, considering the world to be a simulation may often come off partially rude and highly disrespectful, especially to the people who have had to suffer to put bread on the table or have gone through a history of suffering, as it mostly heavily undermines their life and their history and persona. Also something to take into consideration when approaching the simulation theory conversation.

Although this may be taken as an anecdotal, perhaps even as a comedic remark (although from my experience comedy and trauma blend together like fine dining and wine, although they seldom should – and I do mean specifically comedy and trauma) since the mass populous of our virtually global technologically advanced society has gotten so incredibly desensitized to the fact of this – I can assume that most people who are reading this post right now have had a day where they either woke up with a feeling or have had an occurrence of what I personally do consider to be a “faulty enlightenment” of sorts, and it goes along the lines of something like this:

I encourage younger readers, if you are able to - to attempt to convince your grandparents or parents that a part of their historical upbringing, whether it be something like a war, genocide or segregation never happened due to it being a simulation and record the results.

Funny thing is, even if your grandma gives you the hardest ass whoopin' of your life, it would still not be enough to prove that reality isn't a simulation.

Yet again, even if it is, which it is not in my opinion, I hardly see any point in going into loops.

But fuck it - I'm taking all the pills!
